Minimally Invasive Methods for Adolescent Intraarticular Distal Humerus Fractures with an Intact Column

چکیده
Intraarticular distal humerus fractures occur in adolescents and represent a unique morphology that is amenable to different surgical techniques than adults or younger children, especially when one column remains intact. Despite articular involvement, minimally invasive approach utilizing the intact periosteum opposing of bone can often achieve successful reduction fixation. Here, we present an operative technique for these along with four cases successfully treated percutaneous lag screws.

Comparison of 3 Minimally Invasive Methods for Distal Tibia Fractures.
This study compared the results of external fixation combined with limited open reduction and internal fixation (EF + LORIF), minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis (MIPPO), and intramedullary nailing (IMN) for distal tibia fractures. A total of 84 patients with distal tibia shaft fractures were randomized to operative stabilization using EF + LORIF (28 cases), MIPPO (28 cases), o...
متن کاملDISPLACED- COMMINUTED INTRAARTICULAR FRACTURES OF THE ADULT DISTAL HUMERUS: FUNCTIONAL RESULTS AFTER INTERNAL FIXATION
Background: Intra-articular T- type or Y- type fractures of the distal end of the humerus are relatively rare, and consequently few surgeons will be able to attain extensive experience with the surgical treatment of these injuries. The current emphasis is on operative intervention with rigid internal fixation and early mobilization. Methods: In this prospective and retrospective study, we r...

background the management of distal tibia fractures continues to remain a source of controversy and debate. objectives the aim of this study was to evaluate the various complications of minimally invasive percutaneous plate osteosynthesis (mippo) using a locking plate for closed fractures of distal tibia in a retrospective study. patients and methods twenty-five patients with distal tibial frac...
متن کاملMinimally Invasive Surgical Approach to Distal Fibula Fractures: A Technique Tip
Wound complications following ankle fracture surgery are a major concern. Through the use of minimally invasive surgical techniques some of these complications can be mitigated. Recent investigations have reported on percutaneous fixation of distal fibula fractures demonstrating similar radiographic and functional outcomes to traditional open approaches. The purpose of this manuscript is to ...
متن کاملDistal humerus fractures.
Fractures of the distal humerus in adults have traditionally presented a treatment challenge for the orthopedic surgeon. The combination of anatomic complexity, multifragmentary comminution, and a short distal segment, often in the setting of osteoporotic bone, renders these fractures difficult to treat successfully and often make a full restoration of function uncertain. Multiple methods of tr...
